Explanation matters. When we hear incomplete information, we often fill the gaps with assumptions about what is happening. However, when people understand how things work, their support for action grows.
Delivered via Zoom, this 2.5 hour session will look in depth at the two framing metaphors that have been robustly tested to explain how things work – using ‘scaffolding’ to talk about how an effective care system can and should provide the support that children need to thrive and using ‘navigating waters’ to talk about the reasons as to why children and families may come into contact with the care system.
This Deep Dive into our metaphor recommendations will cover each of the recommendations in detail, providing framing theory into what impact each recommendation has on our audiences. There will also be practical exercises and opportunities for discussions that will allow you to explore how you can use the metaphors in your specific roles and conversations.
This session is for people who have already completed the Introduction to Framing and Framing Care Experience session. You can find all of our upcoming sessions on the Each and Every Child Website.
